Cape Town, ZA

Venue: Hout Bay, Atlantic Seaboard South. (Follow signs to the harbour)

A trip to Cape Town isn't complete without taking a trip on one of the glass bottom boats that leave Hout Bay for Seal Island. When deciding which boat to take don't get sold on the 'glass bottom' aspect. The waters around the Cape are pretty murky and the glass bottom is usually just a small dirty window. However up on deck you'll be within touching distance of hundreds of seals most of them just lounging and basking on the Island itself. (Seal Island should actually be renamed Seal rock as it's no more than the size of a football pitch). There's some great camera opportunites and because the Island is so close to Hout Bay it's a trip even the most ardent land lubbers can take.
